Let the Light In

Bob Schneider is one savvy individual.

I love his music. I takes me back to reality, like the human part of me: all of me.

I was introduced to his music by Katie Featherston from Paranormal Activity (who has great taste in music btw), i.e., Collin Hauser>>>>Look him up on Sound Cloud.

I have to write two research papers by December 3rd and I have hardly started...mostly because of all the tests I have had the past two weeks.

Oh well. At least Bob Schneider is playing on my iPhone as I procrastinate my way into a jobless but perfectly-human, future.

"I love ya like peaches"
"It's days like this that burn me, turn me inside-out"
"I love ya like forever, 'cause it's all that we got"
"I wana lay at the bottom of the big blues sea with you"

Alice

Not only is it a highly successful Disney movie, but there were over 5 movies made using the same story line (a girl named Alice is trapped a world of nonsense). I love this story because I often feel like Alice. A lot of things make little or no sense to me...Like elections, and war, and famine... and i feel very lonely. Too often, I feel like no one understands me and that most of my logic has become gibberish to the rest of the world. I was reminded of my love for Alice in Wonderland by my English professor who shared the poem "The Jabberwocky" by Lewis Carrol. As he read through it, I was taken aback to my childhood years and was compelled to share this poem of genius-nonsense...Enjoy :)
Also, I want a mome rath.

JABBERWOCKY

Lewis Carroll
(from Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, 1872)

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

A picture that made my day a little better

I have a Chihuahua and I think it's so funny how scared they are of everything. Also, I am not a huge fan of cats artistically, meaning I don't like them rubbing up against my ankles, or the sound of their meow, or the way they lick each other's butts and hold their mouth open afterwards. It grosses me out. I do like pictures of cats, cartoons, and stories about cats, however. What's so funny? I think it's the fact that the cat was referred to as an 'it' and the dog is about to kill over in fear.

Have A Great Evening :)

Politics Shred

A short poem ....by yours truly....on the unworthy subject of politics....

The Great Debate shreds people like a Quill.
Thanks to you, my relationships have become ill.
Unrighteous and immoral are your ways,
Yet the things are assumed right, the things you say.
Why must we sit back and wait for one person to change the world
When the serious issue is the nonsense of false refferal.
It's not Obama's job to take charge of our lives,
And Mitt Romney is only interested in those paper tens and fives.
It's our responsibility to care for the poor,
To reach out until the poor needs no more.
If our hope would lie above instead of down here below,
Maybe our lives would become less and less shallow.
As you contemplate on your choice,
Understand the silence in your voice.
They say your vote counts,
When in reality the winner is always chosen with doubts.
No matter how many times you try,
The president is never good enough, or sadly he dies.
So take these words to heart and understand my pain,
When I make a reference to the poilitical rain.
It's acidic, it burns, it tears,
It yearns to find the center of your being and consume
What else is left, nothing but doom.

When A Beloved Ascended into Heaven

Shelli Sellars was threatened with death before she could live out the first half of her life. Colon cancer was the culprit, and it wasn’t giving up.

You know who else wouldn’t give up? Shelli. She didn’t let death bring her down and her smile was never wiped away. While she holds the title for many wonderful qualties such as, a nurturing mother, a beautiful wife, profound teacher, the queen of smiles, and a beloved friend, the greatest of them all was her belief in a miracle. I still believe that the Sellars family is in for a great awakening, and even though Shelli has passed before the prophesy of her life ending at 85, God still has something in store.

Becasue I believe that life doesn’t end in Heaven. I believe that Shelli’s 85th year on Earth will have significance even though she is no longer with us physically.

In 2052, we will have a taste of Shelli’s spirit and I don’t think it will be easy to ignore. She will never be forgotten and neither will her persistence. Her family has a dream for their future and their tragic loss will not stop them from receiving God’s love or the touch of their loving mother’s spirit.
I encourage anyone who is reading this blog, to understand how important it is to celebrate a life, rather than to mourn over the loss. It's what I would want when I ascend into my Father's arms.

I love you Shelli, and I hope Heaven is as extravagant as you are.

Infinite blessings to your family, and may God’s peace forever be the comfort of your soul.
